Have you ever felt so lost that you were just barely holding on to the end of your rope? Been so alone and trying to keep your head above water? Times like these we need to remember, that “Blessed are the poor in spirit” (Matthew 5:3).
It is at the end of the rope that Jesus wants us, emptied of ourselves and ready to be filled by His grace. It is when we feel out of control that Jesus is there waiting for us to turn over control to Him. We need to recognize that our own pride cannot heal our brokenness, cannot save us from the fall. We need to surrender ourselves, empty our spirit of self and give our spirit over to Him. Let us fill our spirit with the Lord. For happy are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
